Artists Statement: Have you ever thoughtfully looked at a split piece of firewood? When wood is split, or cleft, it can be incredibly beautiful. Undulating curves, rhythmic textures, unpredictability; these are just some of the reasons I enjoy showcasing wood in its cleft form.
