Artists Statement: The inspiration for this vessel came from seeing pieces made by Alain Mailland and to investigate the technique of turning a blind hollow form and then turning and carving the exterior to finish the vessel. The piece includes the natural edges of the burl as the outter edges of the branches and includes a natural bark inclusion which subtly seperates one of the branches.
